Where do we go when we fall asleep? When our minds can get a break and our souls can let its imagination run free? Where do we go when we drift along to sleep?

The night is black, the stars are the bright and the sea is dark & deep. As I lay in my bed on a chilly winter night, in the midst of a pandemic roaring outside my windows, I close my eyes and try to get my thoughts in order. It has been a long day and as I settle into my sheets, I begin to reflect on how I navigated my way through the day. I take account of every potential misstep I might have taken and I give thanks for every opportunity caught.

I feel tired, not just physically but on an emotional plane as well. There is something inherently heavy resting on my heart and I have my suspicions that it is because of the feeling of restrictions placed upon my life and my everyday movements that weigh heavy on me. Given the chance right now, with Toronto’s nearly -10•c weather in mind, I would be laid up on a hidden island somewhere sipping Mai-tai’s in my birthday suit.

I close my eyes and I say a quick prayer for better days before opening the floodgates of my mind to endless possibilities in regard to a list of 1000 different places I’d rather be right now. I find that thinking and dreaming of aspirations and goals helps me set ideas in motion that then help boost morale to achieve those goals. This is why I believe everyone should partake in healthy daydreaming.

Being able to take a moment out of your everyday routine to envision yourself in a better place in your life is a blessing and a gift, one that should not be taken lightly. To live is to create and so if we wish to live our best lives we cannot be afraid to think big and dream bigger. Manifesting continuity & direction.
